How to top up games and services from Russia in 2026
Steam, Google Play, PSN, Roblox and mobile shooters: three working top-up schemes and the classic region mistakes.
Why cards stopped working
International payment systems left Russia, and most gaming platforms no longer accept Russian bank cards. Some services additionally check the account and payment-method region — everything has to match.
Scheme 1: top-up by login
Used by Steam, Valorant, League of Legends. You provide the account login and the supplier funds the wallet in the right region. No password and no account access required.
There is one main risk here: a typo in the login. The top-up goes to someone else and cannot be recovered.
Scheme 2: top-up by player ID
This is how mobile games work: PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Mobile Legends, Standoff 2, Honor of Kings. The ID is in your in-game profile, sometimes together with a zone (as in Mobile Legends, where both numbers are needed).
Scheme 3: gift card code
Google Play, Apple, PlayStation, Xbox, Netflix, Amazon, Nintendo. You get a code and redeem it yourself. This is where the main trap appears — the region.
The region rule
A code only works in the region it was issued for: a Turkish card will not redeem on a European account. Checking the account region in the service settings takes a minute, and it is worth doing before the purchase, not after.
If a code does not redeem
- Make sure the account and card regions match.
- Check the code is entered in full, without spaces.
- If everything is right and it is still rejected, message the shop's support with the receipt: that is now a supplier matter.
How long it takes
Login and ID top-ups usually take a few minutes. Codes are issued instantly. If a supplier is slow, a sane bot completes the order itself and reports back, refunding your balance if it fails.
